How to avoid mosquitoes

Reduce the mosquitoes this summer with a mosquito killer!

The easiest way to prevent mosquito bites is to avoid places where the mosquitoes like to be. It may sound logical but it goes a long way, and the trick is to minimise the risk of mosquito infestation around your property during spring and summer.
Try to avoid wetlands, rivers, lakes, ponds, at least at dusk when the insects are particularly active.

If you have decided not to submit your own garden or patio to the mosquitoes there are a few things you should consider in order to take the right steps from start. First, you need to check your surroundings to ensure that there is no standing water where the mosquitoes can lay their eggs. Clear all water if possible, in gutters, birdbaths, old pots, wheelbarrows, car tyres, etc.

Keep the grass mowed short, and the site clean from thickets and bushes.

If you need to enter the forest where mosquitoes are usually out in force, wear light, loose fitting clothing, mosquitoes are drawn to dark colours.

If you know you will be staying in a place with plenty of mosquitoes, you can prevent itching and swelling by taking regular allergy medication containing antihistamines in advance. Antihistamines prevent your body from reacting strongly to bites. You can find these products at your local pharmacy.

We hope that you can use the advice to make your surroundings a little less swarming with mosquitoes this summer!
